Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are you insured and CRB checked?
A: Simply the Pets is fully insured to professionally walk and care for all pets. We are covered by Cliverton, a well established insurance broker with specialist schemes to cover a range of animal related industries. Our policy covers us for: public liability, care custody and control as well as loss of keys. Hayley is also CRB checked through her volunteer work at Waggy Tails.
Q: Can we meet prior to making a decision about using your services?
A: Of course. Before we carry out any services (except the Pet Taxi), we will meet with you and your pet in your home. This free consultation is designed for all of us to get to know one another, and for us to understand you and your pets needs and preferences.
Q. Do you work on the weekends?
A. Yes, but not on a regular basis as long as prior notice is given. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.
Q. What areas do you cover?
A. Coulsdon, Forestdale, Kenley, Purley, Sanderstead, Selsdon, South Croydon, Whyteleafe
Q: What do you do in case of an emergency?
A: First we will assess the situation and call you to discuss. If we can’t get hold of you and medical attention is required, we will take your pet to your nominated veterinary practice or, depending on the circumstance, the nearest veterinary practice.
Q: How many dogs do you walk at one time?
A: There never more than 4 or 5 dogs in a group, although we are insured to walk upto 6. This is a big enough group for the dogs to enjoy the stimulation, exercise and natural feeling of being in a pack; but is also small enough to ensure that we always have control of each member of the pack.
Q: Do you let the dogs off the lead?
A: Yes, as long as written consent is provided by you and your dog has excellent, consistent recall. However, if you'd rather your dog was kept on their lead that's fine too.
Q: Do you pick-up and drop-off my dog from my house?
A: Yes. Usually, our clients give us keys to the house so that we can do this even if they are not home. If you aren’t home, we will towel off your dog (a towel must be provided by you) and check their water.
Q: Do you offer boarding?
A: No, not at this time. We do offer pet sitting where we visit your home to look after your pet without a disruption to their routine or the upheaval of going to kennels or cattery. Our visit will last upto 20 minutes, where we will feed, play, clean cages/ litter trays as well as perform any other tasks you request. Included as part of this service we will ensure your home has that 'lived in' look by bringing in post, taking out rubbish and switching lights on/off etc.
