Finding a lost cat
Don't panic and try to stay calm. Search your home thoroughly, checking inside every cupboard, under every bed, in the shed/ garage etc. Go door to door in the area your cat became lost providing detailed information and asking them to search their gardens, sheds and garages to see if your cat may be hiding there. Prepare a flyer with relevant information about your cat, including the name and physical description. Contact information should include your name, telephone number and email address. If possible, include a photograph and have these photocopied. Post and distribute flyers throughout your home neighbourhood and to any rescue services you contact. First of all DON'T panic! Spend up to 30 minutes calling and whistling for your dog in the immediate area the dog was last seen first. Try to sound upbeat and cheerful (no dog wants to come back if they think they're going to be told off.Gradually make the circles wider and wider before you leave. Make sure that you ask everyone you pass if they've seen your pet and ask them to keep a look out for them.
